News !!

Wednesday, June 30, 2010 |

I have been to the author, Richelle mead 's Blog, and read few stuff in her last entry that you might be interested in reading about.
here we go:

  • publication date for Georgina #6--and a title! It's going to be called Succubus Revealed and will come out September 2011.
  • Untitled Eugenie 4 is January 2012, and the untitled VA Spin-Off series kicks off late summer/early fall 2011. (i don't get it, will there be a VA 7? - I HOPE SO)
  • Vampire Academy has been optioned for film by Preger Entertainment! Yay! Let me make it clear, though: an option is exactly that. An option. It's a right to the books I sell, and it means Preger now has the option of turning VA into a film. It may not happen anytime soon. Some books are optioned for years with no action. So that may mean nothing is happening right now. Of course, it can also mean they're already scripting and making plans. The point I want to make is that you shouldn't brace yourself for a VA film coming out next spring. I probably sound pessimistic with these disclaimers, but I just want to be realistic because lots of books get optioned and have long delays before anything happens. Georgina was optioned over a year ago by Fox Television, and there's been no movement there either.
  • I have no clue when/if production will begin or how it will unfold. Like I said: it can be months, it can be years. Also, this means I don't have any control over casting. I have to mention that because I get requests almost daily. :) Sorry! So cross your fingers on what'll happen to VA, but remember to be cautious and patient. The press release is here.

there's is a new page added, where you can find the first pages of few books.
the chapters of the books will be changed, regularly.
if you want me to post the 1st chapter of any book, just mention that to me in a comment or a message, and I'll post it in within 2 days . =)

New page - Summer reads

Again just to mension that i have added a new page called Summer reads, note that more books will soon be added, including those in "to read" shelf in my "good reads" profile. =)

Fresh look

|

I have just finished editing this theme, i love it,simple, and bright... new refreshing look. i really didn't like my old template, it was pretty boring (;v_v) and think this one suits more. (-^.^-)
anyway, i hope you like this one. ;)

writing down my summer reads list. here is what i got yet.

The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake
By Aimee Bender
304 pages
At age 8, Rose Edelstein discovers she can taste feelings in food—lonely pie, adulterous roast beef, resentment soup—whatever angst or elation the cook might have experienced while preparing the meal. Weird for any kid, yes. But when a family like the Edelsteins is serving up its own wacky stew of alienation and contradiction—from the taciturn father, who "always seemed a little like a guest," to the misanthropic brother, a physics prodigy with KEEP OUT posted (in 17 languages) on his bedroom door—having the ability to sense the dissonance between emotion and behavior can be especially painful. It's no wonder Rose's insights and subsequent psychic ramblings land her in the ER. Thankfully, George Malcolm, an adorable science whiz, comes to the rescue, simply by believing her. Voracious for human connection, Rose comes of age while unraveling family secrets as strangely lucid as they are nightmarish. At its core, Aimee Bender's novel The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake encourages us all to make the most of our unique gifts while still finding a way to live in the so-called real world. — Kristy Davis

Lolita
by Vladimir Nabokov
His powerful sentences of lust, but more interesting is the inescapable lust the reader is subjected to — turning us into Humbertish perverts.
Waiting for Godot

A Mango shaped space
by Wendy Mass.
hirteen-year-old Mia Winchell appears to be a typical eighth grader. But Mia is keeping a secret from everyone who knows her: sounds, numbers and words appear in color for her. Mia has synesthesia, the mingling of perceptions whereby a person can see sounds, smell colors, or taste shapes. A Mango-Shaped Space is a poignant, coming-of-age novel spiced with wit and humor that chronicles Mia’s developing appreciation of her gift and the part it plays in her life.

Father of the Rain
By Lily King
384 pages; Atlantic
Early in Father of the Rain, 11-year-old Daley experiences a moment she'll treasure for decades: "My father grinning his biggest grin and looking at me like he loves me, truly loves me...." Never mind that he's high on martinis and the thrill of pulling a stunt that humiliates his wife and insults her dinner guests. Lily King's luminous novel centers on a child's blinding hunger for a parent's affection. King makes this well-worn theme seem fresh with her vividly drawn characters—especially Daley's father, Gardiner, a narcissistic alcoholic with an ugly temper and a magnetic charm—and a clear eye for the details of their singularly messed-up relationships. Set in the affluent East Coast seaside town where Gardiner was raised, in a world of Wasp privilege he takes for granted, the novel covers three decades starting in the mid-'70s. Daley's mother leaves Gardiner, but Daley can't give up hoping he'll change. "You want the daddy you never got," her boyfriend says. Obvious? Maybe to us. The uplifting ending comes as Daley finally sees for herself what's been clear all along. — Karen Holt

The Summer We Read Gatsby
By Danielle Ganek
304 pages; Viking

A sophisticated comedy of manners about a wealthy family torn apart and brought together by the contents of a will. A bit over-the-top and rarified—as befits both the title reference and the author's history. Ganek wrote about the chi-chi New York arts scene in Lulu Meets God and Doubts Him. — Sara Nelson

Someone Will Be with You Shortly: Notes from a Perfectly Imperfect Life
By Lisa Kogan
208 pages; HarperStudio

Fans of Lisa Kogan's column in this very magazine will revel in the characteristic deadpan wit on display in her first book, Someone Will Be with You Shortly. Like the bit of banter you don't think of until ten minutes after the dinner party has broken up, Kogan's riffs on motherhood, politics, relationships, and life itself are what we wish we'd said, only sharper and funnier. ("Johannes and I are not married in the eyes of the law," she writes about her daughter's father, who lives in Switzerland, "[but] we have privately vowed to irritate each other for as long as we both shall live.") This is good stuff. And believe us: We're not just saying that because her office is down the hall.

Blue bloods 5 ( keys to Repository)

|

Blue bloods, part 5, Keys to Repository is being released!!! (o.o)
TOMORROW. so here you go this is my plan now ... as i have only read 4 pages from Dead until dark, i will continue with 1984. finish it. and start with keys to the repository right away. =D
i just hope i get it soon (>.<) and well, if that didn't happen, then i guess i'll continue with Dead until dark. (v_v)

I have been wondering what will happen the in the 6th and the last book of the vampire academy series by Richelle mead : Last sacrifice (that name is freaking me out) . i have also read some theories from few fans :)

so here's what i have in my mind.

Rose will no doubt get out of jail , either by Abe saving her , before the trails as he said he'd do. or probably Richelle Mead would like to add more conflicts, and let him save her at the last minute.
there is this theory i read by one of the fans, that said Adrian Ivashkov would sacrifice his life for her,and claim that he killed queen Tatiana Ivashkov, he's her nephew and would have access to her bed room , and morois would probably believe him then. well, he really loves and adores her so that won't be much of a big shock.
how ever rose will be saved , whether before the trail or after it, or at the last minute. whether Abe Mazur will do that or someone else.

-Who killed queen Tatiania ivashkov?
Well this is pretty difficult to figure out, while reading the book, the first person came to my mind was Victor Dashkov, some of the fans argued that it was almost impossible for him to get in the court , but he has he's brother: Robert, who is a spirit user, and can use complusion the way Lissa and rose did when they broke into Taravos.
why would he want to kill the queen , well that is already mentioned in vampire academy , the first book.
he would either want to rule or want Lissa to rule. so he'd get rid of the queen to make that easy. ( though i am not sure of this theory)
again , why would he want people to think it's rose who killed the queen? well, that is pretty easy, sure rose is a great asset , but he can't have control over her, and can't on Lissa if rose was around either, so he'll get rid of rose to get to Lissa, tada... simple.
I read this theory of a fan that said that Mia can be the killer, that perhaps, she still hates rose, but hid it all the time. she knows everything around in the court and is pretty sneaky and probably found a secret way to the queen's bedroom , and killed her, and let people think it was rose. she can easily get rose's stake too.
though i don't really support this theory; why would Mia help them in getting the document of Tarasov Jail without getting them in trouble if she really hates Rose. Anyway that can be pretty surprising if it's what Richelle Mead decided.
Others thought of Ambrose , i am not sure, but it does make sense, that Ambrose killed the queen and gave Rose that note to not let her or anyone think of him as the murderer.Ambrose was close to the queen and had access to her place as i guess. and it's really easy for him to kill her. it also had been mentioned that he wasn't in the court, so he probably was meeting victor and they agreed that Ambrose kills the queen for him or something like that. What's disturbing, is that Ambrose had defended the queen the night he and rose met. I really don't know, this is confusing, but parts of the Ambrose theory really makes sense to me.
it had also been suggested that Daniella killed her. this would be a great surprise if it's what Richelle Mead have wrote.
however, Who killed queen Tatiana is somehow something difficult to guess, and i am sure Richelle Mead would be making the best choices.

-Lissa's Half brother/sister.
i personally think and hope it's some one they don't know, someone they never met or don't have any kind of relationship with, it's more interesting to have a new character in each book, Richelle Mead have always done that , in all the Vampire academy series books, so this is actually what i expected.
others have suggested Mia or Jill (Jailbait) as the half sister.
there is this theory that does make sense and relates to the murderer of the queen. it says, that Adrian is Lissa's half Brother. and Eric ( Lissa's dad) had a relationship with Daniella, once Daniella knew that queen Tatiana was about to find out about it, she killed her. Specially that Adrian have already told her what he and rose know. makes sense, eh?

-Dimitri Belikov vs Adrian Ivashkov.
who will Rosemarie Hathaway end up with ? i personally think Dimitri would be the one after all. the whole story was based on that.
so i have no doubt it's Dimitri, what will happen to Adrian is something i don't want to think of. i am not in Adrian's team, nether i am in Dimitri's, i like them both. and can't decide who is better.
some said Adrian would die, ( i wish he doesn't) but that might happen,Rose already thought that what's going on between her and Adrian is like what went on with Mason Ashford, just that she this time decided to choose Adrian and not Dimitri, which is impossible to last.
well. hopefully he won't die the same way Mason did.

- what will happen to Adrian if Dimitri and rose got together.
*here you go. he will either die as some had suggested, and would probably be by sacrificing his life for rose, so she won't be executed for the queen's murder, or any other reason.
*they would break up , because she'll go for guarding duties, blah blah, just like what rose and Daniella are already guessing.
*Adrian will think she'd be happier with Dimitri and let go of her. and would probably end up falling in love with another girl (eg. Sidney)
if Adrian would be left out , then i wish , they breakup because of her guarding duties, and not being able to stay together, blah blah. and then he falls for someone else. that would be a happier ending.
though breaking up for her own happiness is sweet too, and more of romantic. :)

-what will happen to Dimitri if rose chose Adrian ? well, he'll be sad, i suppose. but won't let that show. that's Guardian Belikov :)

-What is the last sacrifice?
before reading spirit bound, i thought it would be Lissa for Dimitri. but i changed my mind later on.
it can be someone else's sacrifice, and not rose's . maybe it's Adrian and not Dimitri or Lissa.
the whole story was about dimka's love and lissa's friendship, and i don't think something will happen to that. so it's probably Adrian,Abe Mazur,Eddie,Janine Hathaway or anything/anyone else, i also think as i mentioned before , that it is someone else sacrificing and not rose. :)

Richelle Mead have already gave us Hints on what will happen in Last sacrifice, when Rose and Ambrose went to his Aunt Rhonda.
in the following quote:
"Cups are tied to emotions," Rhonda explained. "The Two of Cups
shows a union, a perfect love and blossoming of joyous emotions. But since
it's inverted--"
"You know what?" I interrupted. "I think I'm getting the hang of this.
You can skip that one. I have a good idea what it means." It might as well
have been Dimitri and me on that card, the cup empty and full of heartache. .
. . I really didn't want to hear Rhonda analyze what was already tearing my
heart up.
So she went on to the next one: the Queen of Swords, also upside
down.
"Cards like this refer to specific people," Rhonda told me. The Queen
of Swords looked very imperious, with auburn hair and silver robes. "The
Queen of Swords is clever. She thrives on knowledge, can outwit her
enemies, and is ambitious."
I sighed. "But upside down . . ."
"Upside down," said Rhonda, "all of those traits get twisted. She's still
smart, still trying to get her way . . . but she's doing it through insincere
ways. There's a lot of hostility and deception here. I'd say you have an
enemy."
"Yeah," I said, eying the crown. "I think I can guess who. I just
called her a sanctimonious bitch."
Rhonda didn't comment and moved on to the next one.
It was facing
the right way, but I kind of wished it wasn't. It had a whole bunch of swords
stuck in the ground and a woman tied and blindfolded to one. Eight of
Swords.
"Oh, come on," I exclaimed. "What is it with me and swords? You
gave me one this depressing last time." It had shown a woman weeping in
front of a wall of swords.
"That was the Nine of Swords," she agreed. "It could always be
worse."
"I have a hard time believing that."
She picked up the rest of the deck and scanned through it, finally
pulling out one card. The Ten of Swords. "You could have drawn this." It
showed a dead guy lying on the ground with a bunch of swords driven
through him.
"Point taken," I said. Ambrose chuckled beside me. "What's the nine
mean?"
"The nine is being trapped. Unable to get out of a situation. It can also
mean slander or accusation. Summoning courage to escape something." I
glanced back at the queen, thinking of the things I'd said in the Council
room. Those would definitely count as accusations. And being trapped?
Well, there was always the possibility of a lifetime of paperwork . . .
I sighed. "Okay, what's the next one?" It was the best-looking one in
the bunch, the Six of Swords. It had a bunch of people in a boat, rowing off
over moonlit water.
"A journey," she said.
"I was just on a journey. A few of them." I eyed her suspiciously.
"Man, this isn't, like, some kind of a spiritual journey is it?"
Ambrose laughed again. "Rose, I wish you'd get tarot readings every
day."
Rhonda ignored him. "If it were in cups, maybe. But swords are
tangible. Action. A true, out-and-about journey."
Where on earth would I go? Did it mean I was traveling to the
Academy like Tatiana had suggested? Or was it possible that, in spite of all
my rule breaking and calling her royal highness names, I might actually get
an assignment after all? One away from Court?
"You could be looking for something. It may be a physical journey
combined with a spiritual journey," she said, which sounded like a total way
to cover her ass. "This last one . . ." Her eyebrows knitted into a frown at the
fifth card. "This is hidden from me."
I peered at it. "The Page of Cups. Seems pretty obvious. It's a page
with, um, cups."
"Usually I have a clear vision. . . . The cards speak to me in how they
connect. This one's not clear."
"The only thing that's not clear is whether it's a girl or a boy." The
person on the card looked young but had hair and an androgynous face that
made the gender impossible to determine. The blue tights and tunic didn't
help, though the sunny field in the background seemed promising.
"It can be either," Rhonda said. "It's the lowest in rank of the cards
that represent people in each suit: King, Queen, Knight, and then Page.
Whoever the page is, it's someone trustworthy and creative. Optimistic. It
could mean someone who goes on the journey with you--or maybe the
reason for your journey."
Whatever optimism or truth I'd had in the cards pretty much
disappeared with that. Given that she'd just said about a hundred things it
could be, I didn't really consider it authoritative. Usually, she noticed my
skepticism, but her attention was still on the card as she frowned.
"But I just can't tell. . . . There's a cloud around it. Why? It doesn't
make sense."

so according to what the cards said.
the 1st one, it's obviously about Dimitri/Adrian, and here , can that mean Dimitri and rose will never end up together ? again Richelle Mead kept us hanging,
the 2nd one, an enemy, and according to the description, i see that it fits Victor Dashkov, so probably Victor is who had killed the Queen.
the 3rd one, she's trapped, yes..and it's about the queen's murder. and will summon her courage, and sure will get out of her trouble. means won't die.
the 4th one, A journey , the journey to find Eric's Son/Daughter.
the 5th one, that would be found out in the next book, but i assume it's either lissa, or one of rose's friends that will go with her in her journey, or Lissa's Brother/sister. I don't know.

my summary:
rose will be saved, there is going to be a journey to find Lissa's brother/sister. Dimitri and rose will will mostly end up together. okay these 3 points are what i am sure of, not useful, eh? everyone had probably already figured it out.
but, this is what i have got for now.
how ever. i am sure Richelle Mead will AGAIN end up by publishing another masterpiece. A masterpiece full of surprises and excitement. (=

busy days

Sunday, June 27, 2010 |

i hate having busy days, ye know, that type of busy days, in which i'll be doing things that keep me away or too busy to read. well, yesterday i had one of these days AGAIN, and didn't finish reading 1984 by G.Orwell, which i was supposed to finish 2 days ago, and also which i was supposed to finish inwithin one day. and i only read 4 pages from Dead until dark.
-URGH-
and i guess today will be one of these busy days i hate. >_>
i just hope, I'll be able to read few chapters from both the books .
-sigh-

Saturday, June 26, 2010 |

Yesterday i mentioned that i got true blood series, and I'll try to finish reading 1984.Well, i couldn't finish 1984, thus i have been so busy, but as i am a fan of fiction and not so fond of classics as most of you probably are.
i decided to start reading Dead until dark.
i got the books in the form of E books , so while i am not on the computer, I'll be reading 1984, because i can't just leave the book (1984), it makes me feel like i have abandoned a friend :I
I am pretty excited to start dead until dark, most of you probably know true blood as a TV series, well, this is not why i am excited about it. I never watched the show. All i know about it is that it talks of vampires.
i am interested in reading the type of fiction novels that is basically about vampires. (not that i dis-like other fictions)
and believe me, it's not because of twilight like you might guess.
anyway, for those of you that don't know the story of dead until dark, i made this little search online, and this is a copy of what was said on the book in one of the sites.

"This paranormal fantasy novel tells the tale of Sookie Stackhouse, a Louisiana barmaid with a disability--- she can read minds. This unusual ability causes most locals to think she is crazy and shun her. But then Bill walks into her bar, and he's a little unusual himself--- he's a vampire. Sookie finds that she can't read vampire minds--- a restful experience--- and soon Sookie and Bill are dating. Bill even finds the time to meet Sookie's grandmother, and to speak on his Civil War experiences to her group.

But dating a vampire is not all sunshine and lollipops. Many people are biased against the newly-revealed vampires. And then there are the murders, which start with the violent death of one of Sookie's co-workers. Her brother Jason is suspected. Then Sookie's grandmother becomes a victim as well, and Sookie worries that she was the intended victim.

Bill the vampire takes Sookie to Fangtasia, a vampire bar in Shreveport, where she meets other vampires, Eric and Pam. Sookie's telepathic ability prevents them from being caught in a police raid, but the result is that Eric, a higher-ranking vampire than Bill, learns that Sookie is a telepath.

As the crisis over the murders increase, vigilantes burn down a house in which vampires have been living, and Sookie is horrified to realize that Bill may have been among the vampires killed. She spends an agonized day waiting, and is relieved to find Bill alive, or at least still undead, at nightfall.

After Bill and Sookie settle back into their routine, Bill tells her that the vampire Eric insists that she come to Shreveport to use her telepathic abilities to uncover an embezzler. Sookie doesn't want to go but has no choice. The embezzler turns out to be another vampire and is killed when he attacks Sookie.

The murder mystery is finally resolved, the killer turns out to be Rene, the boyfriend of Sookie's friend Arlene. Bill and Sookie are then able to resume their normal--- or not-so-normal--- lives. "

After looking at the books covers, i found out that this series was one that i was about to buy when i had a little visit to a book store more than 6 months ago, but which i didn't buy.
i also found out that it was the same book, but with a different cover, that i was about to buy from another store, about 3 months ago. too much for remembering the names of books i liked.
knowing that i wanted to buy these books twice, is just making me more excited to read them. xD

First entry

Friday, June 25, 2010 |

This is my first post in this blog, which i have just made yesterday.
I am still confused whether to let it a major blog , where I'd post anything and everything, or specific for books and my own reviews, etc...
anyhow, i wanted to write down that i finished reading spirit bound (vampire academy 5) by Richelle Mead <3, 3 days ago.
before yesterday i re-read The witch's daughter (The blair witch files 1) by Merill Cade. i didn't have any books to read , so i re-read this one, which i basically read more than a year ago. i could remember the story, but i seriously had nothing better to do than read it again.
yesterday I started reading 1984 by g.Orwell.
I am not fond of classics so i wasn't all excited about it, but hey, it's a book, by a great author, and books are always good!!
so i read some of it, didn't finish it yet.
today i had my hands on true blood series, i think i'll start it tomorow and continue reading 1984 tonight, and will hopefully finish it.

plans for tomorow:
- review spirit bound (vampire academy5) by Richelle Mead.
-Review the witch's daughter (the blair with files1) by Merril Cade.
- Look for actors to cast them for Vampire academy series characters.
-Read dead until dark (True blood1) OR finish 1984.
-Post best quotes in Spirit Bound .
